What is success?

Have you asked yourself that? People have different opinions and concepts about what really is success. However, according to dictionary.com, success is a noun which is defined as (1) the favorable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavors, (2) the attainment of wealth, position, honors, or the like, (3) a successful performance or achievement, (4) a person or thing that is successful and (5) obsolete outcome. Success is also synonymous to achievement, fame and triumph.

Do you agree with these definitions?

What is your idea of success? Is it paying off your mortgage and owning the home you’re living in right now plus the car you’ve had your eyes on and your children’s educational plans? Is it having financial security and a good retirement plan? Is it living a healthy life? Is it having a happy marriage and a fulfilled family? Is it traveling around the world and writing a book about your adventures? Is it surviving a health condition? Is it becoming a business tycoon and owning some of the largest companies?

What is success to you?

Have you really considered what it is? Or are you living life with no clear direction where you are going from here?

One thing is for sure though; there may be many of definitions for success as each one differs from individual to individual, you have your own concept of success. Others may give you everything you need to help you achieve that success but only you can make the first step; no one can make it for you.
